The spillway of El Zapotillo Dam, the fourth-largest in the world along with the aqueduct that will stretch from here to the city of Leon supplying water to 1.1 million people will be operational.

To date, according to the Director of the National Water Commission, Jose Luis Luege, the project is 40% complete.

Luege Tamargo directly supervised the construction work of this project whose total cost will be almost 13 billion pesos and when completed will supply water to almost 3 million inhabitants not only in Leon but also to 14 municipalities in Los Altos de Jalisco and the Guadalajara metropolitan area.
